Today was a day of rest and renewal for our team. We attended a Spanish community church in Managua. The service started with clapping and singing along with an amazing group of musicians. The free and easy worship style had us feeling at ease in no time. A translator was provided so all could benefit from God’s message.
After a quick lunch back at the Nehemiah centre, we were all energized for out trip to the beach. We enjoyed an afternoon jumping in the waves of the Pacific and listening to the breakers as they reached the shore. The sights along the way to and from the beach are starting to become a little more familiar to us yet the images of tin shacks, mangy dogs, and garbage along the roadside remind us of what a different world we live in.
This evening we were challenged by a movie that showed us how two very special individuals are spreading the restorative and renewing love of God’s grace in the shanty town of Limonade, Guatemala. It showed us the magnitude of the work yet to be done in Central America while still giving us a hope that the work of few can make a difference in the lives of many
