Another HOT day!

Today was another very hot work day. We are getting very far in the classroom and it’s really neat to see everything coming along really nice. We are almost done getting done all the brick laying for the foundation and a lot of us are now on brick sorting and backfilling the foundation.

After lunch in the afternoon Janice, Katherine, Anita, Jacqueline and I went to the girl’s dormitories, to say hello to the girls. At first they didn’t really know why we were there, but after we said hi and shook some of their hands, they got really excited! We tried to teach them the Hokey Pokey. They thought it was really funny, and they got the shaking part down. They taught us this dance where you really have to shake your hips and I think they did a little better than us, but they thought our effort was good. Katherine was teaching them a Hannah Montana dance and they kept repeating everything she said. So even when she said “Ok, let’s try that all together!” they would repeat that as well so it was really funny to watch. A few of us watched a little bit of the school football (soccer) game as well, and it’s really awesome to see them so passionate in the sports that they play. Even when a team scored a goal, the filled side lines (everyone would watch!) would all run onto the field!

When we got home that afternoon, Janice and Phil’s friend Lloyd and his daughter Tamara were at the guest house. They travelled 9 hours on a bus and Saturday night they are travelling back to Lusaka. We all had dinner together and Phil did devotions.
