Day 2--Work work work---(Arista!)

We checked our blog before we started devotions.  Your responses were read out to the group.  We were encouraged and uplifted with them!!! Thank you!

We were up on time, had breakfast at 7, were leaving by 7:30 and were at our work site by 8:30. The school had an assembly to welcome us and thank us for coming.  Jason, our team leader, was asked to respond, and represented us well.  (The children start school at 7am)

Today we were on stage…removal that is! The guys had to break a concrete retaining wall, and then remove about 600 cubic felt of a mixture of concrete and dirt.  They also started digging holes for the footings.  We need 8 – 1 square metre and 1 metre deep.  They have started 6 and completed 1. The ladies tied rebar for cement columns and helped a little with the guys’ work.

Our work today was definitely physical labor- it was very hot – we had to pace ourselves.  The breeze and places of shade were life savers.  It was a productive first day! It was great to have Harry Valstar from Calgary join us –many hands make light..er work!

Many people have now opened their first card from their prayer partner, and have been blessed and encouraged through them. Thank you!  We have also been enjoying our little treats in our care packages from Sonya!

We are tired, but thankful for a good first work day!

P.S. Jeff Plan for today: Keep him so busy he is too tired to get lost….Mission accomplished!!!

Miss you all!
