Day 9--Footings poured, ready for the walls!!!!

Oh Canada,

Glorious and Free!

We love and appreciate our country-especially as we remembered today all those who paid the ultimate sacrifice so we can live in freedom.  Ger brought poppies for us to wear- which prompted many questions.

This morning the pre-school class was having their pictures taken for their December 15 graduation. Both Grade 6 and Pre-school will graduate that day. The school year in Nicaragua runs from February-December with a spring and summer break.

The grade beam was poured today.  Once again, it was a labour intensive assembly line production.  There was also more painting and rebar tying- just one more rebar cage to do. Volunteers from the neighbourhood came to help today.

Some familiar faces dropped by to visit the job site – Harry and Tena Valstar and Jake and Marg Hoogland.

We want to wish Happy Birthday to Pastor Jack!  We have been blessed by his notes of encouragement. Jack, may you be blessed as you have blessed so many others!  Enjoy your special day.

Tomorrow is our last day…Hard to believe!  There will be a farewell assembly at the school and we will also be participating.  We had a lot of fun practicing tonight- trying to decide what to include…and what NOT to include!  It will be interesting to see how what we have practiced actually turns out!!  We’ll report on that tomorrow!
