Day 8 - Back at Work

It was good to be back at work today!  Much was accomplished!  Filling and tamping holes, prepping for concrete, painting and tying more rebar!  The men’s work was largely in the sun-tedious work prepping for tomorrow’s pour.  Clouds and the occasional breeze were most welcome!  Sheila was given a unique assignment- watering the bricks! (to keep them from getting too brittle in the sun).  This afternoon several young people came to help us.

We enjoyed an impromptu Spanish-English sing-a-long at lunch.  It was fun to discover songs that both we and our Nicaraguan friends know.

We are savouring the warm weather- especially as we get reports of cold and snow back home!  We will try to bring some of this heat back with us – no guarantees!

A quiet evening- singing, sharing, blogging and enjoying a treat Sheila had the cooks prepare for us.   Good night!
