Bright and early start to the day as most of us wanted to enjoy the final morning out on the deck with our coffee. Pastor Betson made our final breakfast of fried jacks ( or Fried Ducks for Wally) and eggs before we headed off to the school for an assembly. Towards the end of the assembly the HANDS team was brought up front and were given a warm Thanks from the pastor and the principal. The principal then had each class come up to give us a final hug, high five and thank you card. It was very touching as each class made a large card to thank us for helping with the building their washrooms. There was also a special presentation with the school for the money raised by the West Edmonton Christian school for supplies to the Unity School to help them get much needed items for their school. After more hugs and high fives we went to see Rodney and Jason to see the progress on the washrooms and say our good byes to them. A final walk though to school and final stop at Oscar’s and we boarded the bus to the airport. Safe travels for us as we make our way back home with a short stop in Toronto.
Another great HANDS trip in the books and many friendships gained. It is amazing to see God working in Belize and that while the pastor may not know what tomorrow holds his faith is strong and he prays that everything will work out.
