Cultural Day

Hello Everbody! So Brad so kindly wrote a blog post yesterday, but apparently it did not get published. So here it is now:

"We did more of the same work today such as plastering and moving sand around to where it is needed. Late in the afternoon they guys helped move some sacks of quickrete type stuff. During the day  the grade 9 and 10 classes at the school showed us some cultural dances that were to say not easy for us to do. Tomorrow we will be going up to the mountains to do some whitewater rafting. We're all safe, working on our tans."

So as Brad mentioned, today we went up to the mountains and did some whitewater rafting. We had to get up early, as it was a 2 hour drive, but it was definitely worth it! When we arrived, we ate breakfast from the buffet, before heading out to the top of the river. Boy was that an interesting ride! One of the roads was blocked so we had to back up the truck and trailer down a narrow street. We narrowly missed falling into a ditch! After that adventure, we began our real adventure. The water was perfectly refreshing and the rapids did not disappoint. Nobody fell out, but a few of us may have been pushed out by our guides :P.

After we got back, we were treated to buffet lunches and coupons for the bar. But don't worry folks, it was all cokes for us. We then hung around and tanned (or maybe burned....) by the pool. We also enjoyed some ping-pong and pool. We were back at the ministry centre a few minutes after 6. We ate supper, showered, and played with some of the local kids.

P.S. Today was extra special because it was Brad's Birthday! :)

Here are some pictures of our trip so far. We are having lots of fun!
