Everyone loves a story.
The story of Carolina de Sirker Chrstian School starts with a man from Nicaragua and a girl from NewYork falling in love in medical school. He became a neurosurgeon, she a paediatric nurse. After years of working in the USA, it was her love for children, his love for his homeland that began this school in a poor community on the outskirts of Managua. Together they blessed this community till Carolina's passing in 2013, Now Nor carriers on this legacy in her memory.
Today this ragtag group from Canada were welomed and blessed by the warmth and creativity of this wonderful group of students and teachers from Carolina de Sirker Christian School . It was so awsome to experience the joy in the students, their smiles their hugs, their handshakes and wonderful attempts at the English language . Before we even started our work we were truly blessed.
Then came the work! Cleaning and painting of the structual metal, digging the holes for the foundation and tieing the endless amount of rebar. A lot of work done. Even in this hard work, it was great to experience the community of a great team working together, helping each other.
