Finally all our anticipation and waiting have paid off!
We began our journey at 3am Tuesday morning in Toronto airport. After customs, and our 2 hr flight, we landed in Atlanta, US airport at 8:45am. We enjoyed a quick stop over and then boarded the final flight to Belize city at 9:45am. A 3 hr flight, an hour gained and we arrived in the beautiful, warm and sunny Belize at 12.
We started our adventure with a 2hr, bumpy school bus ride, looking at lots of sugar cane trucks pass, skinny cattle and colourful and quirky abodes. At Cornerstone high school we were greeted by Albert Zantingh the principal, and all the teachers. A quick little tour of the school and a game plan for next couple days, we ended with a delicious dinner back at hotel Maya, with the gorgeous ocean view. Many foods to try, places to explore, work to accomplish and friendships to build in the near future.
