Student Reflection: Josh (Day 5)

Today was a crazy day but I still had a great time. We started off early, I woke up at 5:30 a.m. and my eyelids basically felt like weights hanging down over my eyes. The cold shower and cup of coffee I had were like my own personal trainers at a gym, telling me “stay awake Josh!”, “Don’t fall asleep!”. I managed to push through and we met with the other kids at Bautista Libertad for the second time.

We had a fun competition where we had to draw a bible story on a whiteboard and the first group to guess the story won. I feel like this was a great way to get to know each other a little bit better and have a lot of fun with our partner school. Later in the day we went to a church where we taught younger kids some stories from the bible and songs in Spanish, and at the end they got to break open a piñata and enjoy the candy that we had stuffed into it.  At the end of the day I think that the entire group of Gateway students and teachers were feeling the weights on their eyelids again but we were all happy because we had done good work.
