Tonight we are filled with gratitude! We are tired … but we are overwhelmed with all that we have to be grateful for already on this trip!
Our travel day was amazing! In a time when international travel can have so many stressors and complications, our day was relatively flawless. Though it took a long time to check in a group our size, there were no problems with our luggage or tickets for the team. Clearing customs was an area that concerned us as well, but it was quick and easy for our entire group! The flights were smooth and without complication as well - which was a relief for those students who had never flown before! J
Only a few panic moments when suitcases were searched or language was a barrier at the Nicaraguan airport, and we were through … and not one piece of luggage lost!
As soon as we arrived we were welcomed by Peter and Trudy Kuipers. We immediately felt the heat in the air as we loaded up the bus and prepared to journey to the guest house. And, although it was dark as we traveled, we were still able to have our first look at the sights and sounds of Managua.
We are excited for the experience that is ahead of us! We are here … tired, but so grateful!
