Day 4

Hola friends and family!

This morning we received the news that EduDeo found flights for us to go home tomorrow afternoon.

Obviously this was upsetting news, but Mr. Wanders had just done a devotion with the team on thankfulness and being content in life. So this was very fitting and gave us comfort.

However, we didn’t let this get us down. We made the most of our last day here.

We started off with a quick visit to the mission centre here in the Dominican.

We then went into Santo Domingo and went to the market to buy some souvenirs and practice our bargaining skills!

From there we went into the older parts of Santo Domingo and visited the area where Christopher Columbus first landed. We toured the area and went inside an old Cathedral.

After that we went out for lunch, and then to the beach for some swimming, hair braiding and massaging. It was quite the afternoon!

To end off our day we went out for dinner together and then made our tracks back to camp.

Currently we’re enjoying our last night together and we’re thankful for the time we’ve had here.

Please keep us in your prayers as we travel home tomorrow.

With love from Santo Domingo,
The WEALS Team
