Beunos!
Its hard to believe how fast this week has flown by! Today was our last day at the jobsite and we worked our hardest to get as much done as possible - much of the building was painted by the end. We had a half day at work (till 12:30) because we planned on seeing other schools and going out for dinner to celebrate our last night together as a group! (thank you Victor :))
We sadly had to say adios to all the wonderful kids we met at the jobsite but they gave us many memories to take back home. We then headed back to the ministry center and ran to get our bathing suits because Victor surprised us with a trip to the wonderful Dominican beach! We swam for a bit in the warm waters and enjoyed the beautiful weather before we had to head back to cold, snowy Canada.
We also visitied various Christian schools here in the Domincan that are also run by COCREF. While we were working on making another one, we were also able to see ones that were finished and being used by the hundreds of Dominican children :) We visited two schools, walking into and greeting every classroom. The schools are doing great and it was wonderful and amazing to see the privilege of having Christian schools throughout the Dominican.
Victor then treated us to a delicious pizza dinner which we finished within the half hour (especially thanks to Dan :)). Now we're back at the Center about to do devos and plan to stay up quite late playing games and enjoy our last night.
We're all very sad to leave (none of us want to!) but we're incredibly thankful for the opportunity and we've learned a lot through these various experiences. We want to thank you all for your support! And we most definitely give thanks to God who protected us and been with us throughout the whole time we have been here!
