One more day!

It’s almost the day! In one day time our team will be in the Dominican Republic sharing an experience with one another like no other.

Tomorrow our plane will take off from Pearson airport bright and early, at 6:00 am. We have one stopover at JFK airport in New York City where we’ll have to sprint to catch our connecting flight in a half hour. We’ll hopefully be landing in the Dominican just after lunch time. Tomorrow is just a travel day, but on Wednesday we’ll leave for Belen, the school we’re helping out at.

It seems like yesterday our small team was gathered together talking about fundraising ideas, and how could we possibly raise such a large amount. With the help of many we were able to meet our goal, making this trip possible. The amount of appreciation we feel for everyone who has supported us both financially and spiritually is incomprehensible and our team cannot thank you enough! God has blessed us these past months as we’ve prepared for our trip and we’re eternally grateful for His presence throughout this.

Our team of 14 took awhile to make, but we’re all so excited for this trip! Yesterday we had a final team meeting at the house of Ron Jager. The meeting ended off in a devotion led by Claire and Sarah about prayer. During the trip we have decided to practice praying for one another in groups, and we hope that you too remember us in your daily prayers as we live and work in the Dominican. Please pray for both our safety, but also that we may work to the glory of God and grow in Him.

While our team should try and sleep tonight, there’ll probably be not that much chance of that happening. In less than 12 hours we’ll be up and checking in at the airport and we could not be more nervous and excited!
