Day 3: Day of Worship

Today was a unique experience for all of us. After an hour-long drive to church, we were welcomed into the small room where they worship. We sat down and listened to a few of the people sing songs, some even to tunes that we recognized!

We were asked to present a few songs in front of them, and we sang I've Got the Joy and Alelluia (in Spanish), as well as Sing Hallelujah (in English). The minister preached on the importance of the work of the Holy Spirit in our lives, and how the work of the Holy Spirit needs to be evident in our lives.

Following the service, we were greeted by many of the people attending. Shortly thereafter, we headed on our way.

We stopped for lunch, and then went to the beach shoreline. This only increased our excitement for when we will go to the beach. Ready to go home and rest for the week to come, we drove back and slept, swam, or both. Then we talked and played games together for the majority of the day, until supper.

After supper, our devotions were on the Shoes of the Gospel of Peace. We discussed how the shoes are important to give us a firm grip and foundation in our faith. We can believe with all our heart, and have a strong defence, but without a foundation of inner peace we will be unable to live to our full potential.
