Day 4 - Vamos Chicos!

After a late night of much laughter (we played an intense game of Spoons!), we woke up to a filling, delicious pancake breakfast and left for church at 9am...our first expierence in a Spanish/English service! It was a quick 10minute drive into the city and the church was filled with people and singing once we got there.

We sang a few songs then Celine and Mr. Wanders went to the front to introduce the group to the congregation. They talked about why we're here and who we're with, then all 14 of us sang to them Humble Thyself and Our God is an Awesome God in english :) We listened to the sermon, sang a bit more and then greeted the people afterwards; overall a 2hr service.

Since it was a very beatiful, sunny (and hot!) day we decided to relax and sit in the sun. A few of the kids here at the ministry center, such as Davide and Junior, decided to join us... although most of us ended up chasing them around, with Calvin getting "beaten up" by the kids.

After a few hours of sun-tanning we decided to go sight-seeing! The place we went to was a common touritst-attraction and we ended up feeding the pigeons and exploring inside the various buildings. We saw a lot of familiar restaurants such as Hard Rock Cafe and McDonalds. We were even stopped by a few Dominicans who were challenged by their school to interview a few english-speaking people. After some fun discussion, we continued on with Victor (our EduDeo leader who would yell vamos chicos meaning c'mon everyone) treating us all to ice cream! :) we walked around a bit more then headed back to the Ministry Center for dinner.

Tonight we plan on playing more games and doing our daily devo's! The night is warm and beautiful and its a great to sit and relax in the courtyard, playing with the kids or reading a book.

Thanks be to God for another wonderful day!
p.s. thank you for all your comments, we enjoy reading them! :)
