Transformed

Today is Day 6 for the Burlington Hands Team. We were able to worship in the community where we are working during the week. Iglesia Cristiana Reformada located in Los Guaricanos,DR. We reflected on Romans 12:1-6 and with the help of an interepter we were able to hear the Word of God preached so far from home. It struck us that inspite of cultural differences the LORD is at work everywhere.

During the week we were working side by side with the people of this community buidling two new classrooms and a new canteen with a classroom above it. Whether that meant pulling pails of sand and gravel to the second story with the use of a make shift pulley system or bringing blocks up two flights of stairs or physically putting the blocks up. It was hard work but good work. The people always have a smile or a hug and every day a lovely lunch was provided. As we go into the second week of our trip we anticipate the children going back to school and hope to have some interaction with them as well.

"For just as the body is one and has many members, and all the members of the body though many, are one body,so it is with Christ. For in one Spirit we were all baptized into one body-Jews or Greeks, slaves or free-and all were made to drink of one Spirit" ! Corinthians 12:12,13
