Day 2

We started our day with a wakeup call at 8:00am. After a delicious breakfast and orientation in the ministry center we left to start our work in Hato Nuevo at Escuela Colegio Cristiano Reformada de la Esperanza. We put our muscles to good use right away by bringing cement blocks and other supplies to the second floor to start building walls.

At around 1:00pm we were served a warm lunch by Hijinia and Magali. After lunch we began to put the walls up with mortar and the cement blocks. We did this till around 4:00pm and then were taken back to the mission center by Daniel, our driver. We all had a refreshing shower minus the hot water! At 5:30 we were fed a hearty supper by Maria and her helpers. After dinner we did devotions and sang some songs while Bill led with the guitar. We had to stop earlier than expected because we were interfering with a Creole prayer service. We finished our devotions in our dormitory and then sat around and got to know each other and then went to sleep by midnight!
