A Day 4 Rest

Today was a relaxing and restful day, but also very informative. Church was at 10 am in a room above the preschool. The pastor spoke in both English and Spanish, and the service was very engaging! We sang How Deep the Father's Love for Us and had the opportunity to pray with members of the church. We were all moved by their openness and generosity towards us!

We had lunch with the family of the preschool teacher and went with them to see an archaeological reserve just outside of Corozal. Unfortunately, we weren't able to go inside and see the Mayan temple up close, but it gave us a little taste of what we'll see on Thursday when we go to the Lamanai temple! We also had to say goodbye to the teacher's two adorable children, who have been a welcome presence around the work site these past few days.

Afterwards, we went back to the hotel. Most of us went to a small park a couple minutes away to play volleyball and go swimming. The water was so refreshing! We also got to experience a tropical rain shower, which was very different from the rain we get in BC!

We are about halfway through our trip, and it's gone so fast! Today was great, but we are all ready to get back to work and finish up the projects at the work site. Please pray that we will get a good night's sleep tonight and wake up ready for hard work!
