The trip home

This morning after breakfast and our devotions discussing the week, Victor took us to see two more schools - ones that have been sucessful and have grown by the help of Edu Deo and HANDS.  The first school we visited was San Pablo Christian School.  The principal there was very cheerful while showing us around.  We saw grades 5-8 there for the morning shift.  The little ones come in the afternoons.  Like all of the schools, there is a desire to have all of the students come in one shift rather than two.  There is always room to grow, and this school is also wanting a second storey to be built so that they can have only one shift and have more students.

The second school was called Nueva Creacion de Fe.  It was the first school that was built by COCREF.  It had a very strange shape, a triangular courtyard.  Victor explained that this is because there was no planning when construction began and so for expansions later on they had to attach buildings that were not perpindicular.  There is a basketball court up there and it is where recess happens.  Needs that this school have are to construct walls around the roof rather than have fences so that there is some shade from the sun.  When we came there a YWAM team was putting on an assembly for the primary grades: teaching songs and Bible stories.

We stopped at La Esperanza Christian School, where we had been working, for a bathroom break and to fix the basketball (it already had a hole from hitting some rebar).  After that we returned to the ministry center to pack up and eat lunch.  We were served upstairs where the offices were.  One of the EduDeo staff and Norma from COCREF were there also.  Each person on our team received a certificate from COCREF for the work we had done.

We were driven to the airport at 1 and said "adios" to Daniel and Victor.  We flew to Miami, then to Pearson International in Toronto.  Our flight landad in Toronto at about 12.  Thanks to our drivers who got up late to drive us each home.  I was home by 2 am and went right to bed.
