Day 7: more work

Today we started the day going to breakfast.  We shared the meal with the group from Iowa that has been in Haiti and will be flying home tomorrow.  We waited a while for Daniel to come with the yellow van.  There was some traffic in the way to the school.  Our day was very productive filling the bond beam molds.

The Dominican workers are having trouble keeping up with the speed we go.  That is a good sign of our diligence.  The group from Iowa came to the school to visit for a moment.  For lunch we had some beef, potato salad and rice with lentils.  For a snack at about 2 we had some huge mandarins and some bananas.  We came back to the ministry center and relaxed for a while before having dinner with the other group.

The devotions were about John chapter 16.  We had a thoughtful discussion about receiving whatever we ask in Jesus name.  Minnie had a quote from the book The Happening: “My faith in God goes much deeper than what I can comprehend with my mind.  If I understood everything, I would not need to have faith.  It may never become clear to me why God allowed this tragedy, but one thing I do know—God has a plan for all of us.”  Some of us played a game of Five Crowns before going to bed which was won by Pete Douwes.
