Day 3

Jaime, Lester (our driver) Pelon, Felix and Ping (excuse the spelling!) are the
construction team we are working with. Lester, Peter and Trudy interpret for us.
We are learning their stories. Despite the language barriers, we are having a great
time together. Jaime is the prankster - Aleida has a tattoo ;) and Ed's shoe was tied
to a rope high in the rafters of the church. We pick the guys up in the morning and
drop them off at night.

Today in the church while tying the rebar, we listened to some contemporary Christian
songs. Helen commented "it doesn't get much better than this...as a team, working
and singing Praise and Worship songs together."
The holes are dug, the pillar rebar posts are done (although we have lots more to do) and the pouring of the concrete was started for the footings. We can see progress!
Tonight, Steve Holtrop from World Missions (another Nehemiah Center organization)
came and talked to us about the history of Nicaragua from 1492 til the present and
tied it into the beginning of the Nehemiah Center and their vision.
It was very interesting and helped give us greater insight into the Nicaraguan people
and their plight.
Another blessed day!
