Day 9/10

Hey there. Tonight is our final night here in Santo Domingo, DR! Can’t believe our trip is almost over. It went by so fast! Today was a cultural day. We got to the job site at 9:00am as usual. We worked till noon finishing off the last rebar cages and filling pillars with cement.

We were honoured with a goodbye presentation done by some students with the teachers. They sang for us and gave us all a beautiful gift for our hard work. It was very hard to say goodbye to them all. After half a day of work we went back to the mission center for a shower and lunch. In the afternoon we got to visit 3 different schools that are organized by COCREF. The first school that we visited was called San Pablo. The second school was named Nueva Creacion. And the third was named Renacer. When visiting the classrooms at these schools the children sang to us or asked us questions about Canada. They all seemed very happy to see us.

For dinner tonight we were treated to pizza and ice cream by the sea. When we came back we spent our final night overviewing our trip and discussed all of our thoughts and personal feelings. We grew very close together and had such a great time. We had a lot of great laughs and fun together. The memories will last forever! We are very thankful that the Lord kept us all in his care and watched over us every day. Now it is time to pack our suitcases and be ready to hit the road at 10:00am to catch our plane! Audios!
