Day 9

Hoooooola! Today turned out to be a lot more relaxing than our usual work days. We were at the work site by 9:00am and we all helped put together the rest of the rebar cages. Thankfully all of our block work is completed and we are told we layed around 2000 blocks! WOW!

They are very impressed with us. Lucas, el jefe (the boss), told us that we caught on quick and we did very, very well! For lunch today we were invited to visit Villa Penca Haina la Pared. This is a pre school and also a school for handicapped. The purpose of the visit was to build awareness to get support for the school. We were treated to a very delicious lunch and after we were served coffee and cake! We socialized for a few hours and then made our way back to the job site to get our belongings and then head back to the mission center.

After showering and relaxing for a bit we had some dinner and more cake! Tonight for devotions, Guido came and told us his life story! Guido is the head administrator of the mission center here in Santo Domingo where we stay. He is a testimony of how God lead his life to the time of when he was 7 years old to now. Him and his family really treat us with exceptional care here and we are grateful for that. Now were are just relaxing and playing some games and will be off to bed soon. Goodnight!
