last day at El Eden School

Today was the final day of work at El Eden school.  The painting of the insides of the classrooms and all the window grills were completed and the new roof was put on. The team was definitely more efficient as each day went on.

The end to the day was a great experience. Lea who is the principal of the school, her staff, and a few students had a short presentation. They expressed their heartfelt thanks to the team for coming to do the work and were so thankful to the Lord to be able to meet Christians from another part of the world. It is amazing to see God's worldwide kingdom where Christians from two different parts of the world speaking different languages can relate to each other, share a common love for our Lord, and pray together. Meeting the El Eden staff and working at their school were a definite blessing to us all.

Tonight at devotions Peter asked us all to share what our highlight of the trip is to this point. It was almost unanimous that the highlight was the expression of love from the El Eden staff.

Debbie presented a framed picture of our team with a verse from the Bible in Spanish that we thought applied to the El Eden school, Jeremiah 29:11, as well as all of our signatures. Then we sang Jesus Loves Me in Spanish with actions. Needless to say those of us who are not as good at singing and performing actions at the same time were trying hard not to be at the front of our group.

We are now back in Managua at the Nehemiah Center. We have been doing devotions together each night where as a group we are looking at how God is working in our lives, what he may have in store for us, and to be challenged to look at what we may have to change in our lives to be closer to God.

We just finished playing a game called "Anomia" where we were "strongly encouraged" to play. We definitely had a lot of laughs!

Tomorrow is our cultural day.
