Day 3 at El Eden School

We have by now gotten into a steady routine. A few are up before 6 am for morning devotion and just enjoying first light in the fresh cool early morning air. The guest house where we are staying is at a higher elevation amongst hills and the temperature is most conducive with gentle light cool breeze blowing in the morning and at dusk, just right for us to start and end the day with.

This morning, Joyce came down with a case of an upset stomach and was unable to join us at the work site although she really wanted to. We are fortunate to have Margaret who's a registered nurse to ensure Joyce is properly cared for. Please pray for God's healing hands for a quick and full recovery.

Our work day started on schedule at 8.30 am. The roofing crew came in to do some welding and put on a new roof of corrugated metal sheets after we had removed the old and worn sheets in the first 2 days. Painting is also progressing well despite discovering how tricky and time consuming the work is, especially for the window grills.  The classrooms are beginning to brighten as we see our work coming through, freshening up the place with new coats of paint. Our host (principal Lea and her staff) quietly helped by ensuring the place is cleanly swept, ready for us each morning before we come in.  We also replace some badly damaged outlets as you can see in the pictures.

Tomorrow will be our last day working at this school site. Although we realize there's still much to be done, please pray that we are able to complete as much as we can, and that the local workers be able to finish off the job before school starts in 2 weeks time.

We will be leaving Diriambi at 4 pm tomorrow afternoon heading back to the Nehemiah Centre as we continue with our planned schedule.

Please pray for good rest and journey mercy.
