First Day on the job in Nicaragua

We arrived to the lovely warmth of Nicaragua last night and I must say, we are NOT missing the snow and cold!  Thankfully all our luggage arrived and our flights ran smoothly.

Today started early.....at 5:56 am as some could not wait for the alarm to go off!  After a delicious breakfast with lots of fresh fruit and warm up exercises led by Bruce, we were off to our first work day.  After picking up supplies and we visited the school in Diriambi where we saw the school that previous teams have been working on.  They have been putting a 2nd storey on the school in order to open more classrooms.

We arrived to Niquinohomo where many detours were taken as half the roads in town were  dug up to install watermains.  The teachers and Principal Lea welcomed us at Eden school where we busily got to work painting.  Padre Pedro (Pastor Peter) and Dave were busy tearing off the roof which will be replaced by the end of the week.    The rest of us began painting the school which is presently closed for the summer holidays.  In total we hope to get 4 classrooms done by the end of the week.

We are now relaxing in a lovely guest house with beautiful gardens and it has been great getting to know each other.  Peter lead us in devotions and if you want to follow along, please read Joshua 1 and see how God challenged Joshua to be a leader while promising to always be with him.

Please hold our team in prayer and specifically to pray for rest for those who are lacking sleep as well as ongoing protection for our health and safety.
