Day 7 - Day of rest

This morning we went to a Spanish church, which for a lot of us was a first time experience.

The first hour was very lively Spanish music with many people dancing, waving, and clapping. We were given head phones with a translator so we could understand the sermon. It had its entertaining moments when the translator yawned and burped, although he did excuse himself.

After church we came back to the Nehemiah centre for a delicious lunch and met Lester's family. It was very special to meet his 18 month old daughter because his wife was pregnant with her on our last HANDS trip.

We then headed off to the ocean for the afternoon. It was a fun and relaxing day with huge waves, nice long walks, and great weather. Some even got a chance to go horse back riding and quadding.

After a delicious meal at the beach, we returned to the Nehemiah centre and watched a very moving documentary called Reparando about a slum in Guatemala.

It was a busy weekend but we are ready to get back to the jobsite tomorrow!
