Parkland Team

Hola from the Parkland Hands Team.  It's been a journey getting us together but we're all set to travel to Hato Nuevo in the Domincan in late February 2014. The team is gathered from across Alberta, along with a friend from Hamilton, so we look forward to meeting and getting to know one another. As this will be a repeat visit for two of us we look forward to renewing friendships and experiencing the continuing work of God in this community. For the others this will be a new experience, but altogether we're in for an amazing time.

The team will arrive in the D.R. Feb 21 and continue the work at la Ezperansa (the Hope) Christian School, situated in a Haitian community near Santo Domingo. Haitian's in the D.R. face many challenges, while they are able to work jobs are scarce and wages are low. The greatest challenge however relates to their not be fully recognized as citizens; as such Haitians do not benefit from government programs or support.  It is good to see organizations working in the areas of health and education to improve the lives and opportunites within the communities.

Please pray for us, and if you feel called to give, even a small amount of support is appreciated.  All moneys raised for the Team will accrue to the purchase of materials and hiring of local workers. May the peace of God be with all of us as we celebrate the true Hope of Jesus Christ in the coming weeks.
