Day 3 celebrations and work

It is the rainy season here!!  It poured  last night and again at various times today.  We are thankful that it came when we were at the coffee exporters and once again when we got home. There is lots of mud around the worksite and when we came home our feet weighed much more than when we arrived.

This morning we walked from our home through the market downtown (which is literally downtown.  The town is surrounded by mountains and the river runs through it.) to the Baptist Christian School who were celebrating their 14th anniversary.  We enjoyed seeing the children's enthusiasm and listening to their songs.  They even did 2 english songs.  One student did a solo of "Because He Lives".  The school has grown from 39 students to 350 in 7 years.  God is at work in the education system here.  The children all gave God the glory as did all of the staff and Board of Directors.  At the end of the program.l  During the year the students placed prayer requests in a box and today they were opened and then placed in a large clay pot and burned.  This is the 3rd year they have done this.  They burned the requests with the belief that God has heard and will answer.

We also visited a coffee exporter and learned all of the steps taken in the processing of beans.  We were amazed at the number of steps the coffee goes through and how often the beans are tested and graded.

Then off to the worksite to move more gravel and moving out dirt and digging a trench for the pipe that will go into the bathroom.

Last night after a long day after work Martin a local who is also a volunteer and working with us while we are here gave us massages and then cleaned up some of our guys.  He is a barber by trade.  WOW!! They got the treatment.  Haircut, shave, trim of eyebrows, ears etc.

Everyday we meet people here who have a real love for God and want to serve Him.  We are being blessed with health.
