How Jessica does fun Nicaragua-style

Buenos Noches :)

FUN DAY!!!

Okay, so today was awesome. I think we all had a hard time waking up on time this morning... but! We had pancakes, which made my day great right from the start. We all knew we had a full day planned of exciting things to do, and we were all excited to, “Vamanos!”

We left with Lester at 9 (so early!!) and our first stop was a little pottery shop. It was amazing, we watched a guy make a big bowl out of clay just by using his hands and spinning a wheel beneath him with his feet. He explained to us how it all works and then invited us all to take a look at the pottery he has made. All their pottery was laid out for us to see, a variety of bowls, mugs, vases, bird whistles, plates and other cool pieces. So beautiful with so much detail, although they have so few tools and materials to make them. The owner was so happy when all of us started buying his pottery. Most of us bought at least one thing, some as gifts... hint hint :)

Stop #2 of the day was zip lining through the jungle! It was honestly the best feeling flying through the trees, spotting howler monkeys and walking on swinging rope bridges. The staff even let us go upside down, or on our stomach (called the “super-man” or “SUPER CHICA”) on the zip line. Still can't believe Don stepped up and did it all – it was his first time ziplining, and he did the superman AND he went upside down too! So scary but so awesome! We went through the jungle in 11 zip lines. The staff was so fun with us, they purposely shook our line so we bounced really high and they just laughed when we screamed and told us not to cry :P (and by us I mean mostly Teresa; the one person who screams louder than me!).

After that, we ate lunch at a restaurant alongside Lake Nicaragua. The food was delicious, especially with the Spanish music and beautiful scenery. Oh yeah, and Jason ate a bug. And for no reason. And I think that's crazy and thought you should know Mrs. Dehaan :)

By the time we all loaded back into the van, it was getting so hot! And with 14 people in the van its almost unbearable! But we safely made it to our boat tour, and it was cool to see all the little islands (and the breeze on the lake was so refreshing). After that, we visited a live VOLCANO. We took a few pictures of the great view, and I just really felt so blessed to be able to experience and touch these little, yet amazingly big details that God created. I think we are all seeing God in such different and incredible ways in each day here.

We finished our day with pizza, they have Pizza Hut here! It was a good time, except for when I spilled pop all over myself. :$ Oops... But overall, it was another beautiful day in Nicaragua. I am loving each and every moment of this trip, so much I actually never want to leave. But then again, I am so excited to come back and tell you guys of all my adventures :)

 Salud!
