19 Days to Go!

Wow, only 19 days until our departure to Nicaragua! Flights are booked, accomodations are in place, and all our funds are in!

In the midst of a busy time with school finishing up for most of us, we have been busy with final preparations for Nicaragua. Here are just a few updates:

Music for Missions - we teamed up with the Thunder Bay Christian Community Centre to present a fun night of music and fellowship in March. Praise teams from all three CRCs in Thunder Bay led us in woship. We are very appreciative to all who gave their time and supported us in this event. It was a great opportunity for fellowship with our entire church community and to support missions both far away in Nicaragua and right here in Thunder Bay.

More info about our trip - we have received online tickets and flight itineraries - Leaving April 28 and back May 9. There is also a link found on our team's page, or right here: https://edudeo.com/get-inspired/schools/colegio-primer-templo-biblico/ with information about the school we will be at. Specifically, our team is helping to construct its library.

Our team - has been getting together to talk about any concerns/plans for our trip, just hang out and get to know each other more, and to spiritually prepare our hearts for this experience. It's been really fun hanging out with the team members :)

In closing, our team really wants to thank everyone who has supported us so far, and who continues to supoprt us through prayer. God has blessed us with a very strong support system in our church communities and we can't begin to thank Him enough for that. We sincerely appreciate all He has provided us.

Some prayer requests we have as we are just under three weeks away from departure are:

  • Safety - pray for safe travel as we fly to Nicaragua, and for safety while we serve in the school and explore Nicaragua. Pray that we remain healthy and free of injury during the trip.
  • Prepared hearts - pray that our hearts may be open to learning about the culture and the Christian community of Nicaragua, specifically Managua. Pray that we may grow spiritually while there, and that the locals may be blessed by what we accomplish there, even after we go back to Canada.

Thank you again for your support. Look back here for more blog posts, especially when we are away as we will have internet access where we are staying.

"I am with you, and I will protect you wherever you go."-Genesis 28:15
