Day 3: I Swear We Are Not On Vacation!

Today is Saturday, so no work today.

So we began the day at 7am with breakfast here at the Nehemiah Centre with Lester. So with no work to do what can be done in Nicaragua on a day off? Apprentaly a lot. LOL.

So we drove out to San Juan Oriente and visited a pottery shop. Lester had set up a lesson for us from the owners son, Julio. We watched as he showed us how clay became a pot in the right hands. Once again we where reminded how God molds and shapes each of our lives when they are submitted to him. For each of us that included being here in this beautiful country.

Next up, Zip Lining at Mombacho Volcano. Never did any of us dream that we would be ziping across the jungles of Nicaragua. It was an incredible experience for all of us involved. Once again the bonding as a team was great.

Then we headed for lunch in Granada City at Tip Tops, which is like KFC in Canada. Amazing food once again.

After lunch we went on a boat tour of Lake Nicargua. This lake has 365 small islands that were created many years ago when a volcano erupted. These islands are now used for homes, with one being the home to a family of monkeys. One team member actually got the monkey to take a piece of candy from his hand.

Once back on dry land we went back into Granada City and visited the local market. It wa a chance to purchase gifts for family at home.

Next up was a visit to Masaya Volcano, which had erupted as recently as 3 years ago. There was lots of smoke coming from the volcano today so it was hard to see the lava, however, we could easily hear the rumble from within.

Our day ended at Atomic Pizza, which serves some of the best pizza we have ever tasted.

Day 3 allowed us the opportunity to experience this beautiful country and it's beautiful people.

Blessings,

Team Newfoundland
