About the Job

Reporting to the Executive Director, the International Partnership Director is responsible for leading our international work – focusing on building effective healthy relationships with our global partners and directing the staff implementing our international ministries.

The International Partnership Director will be the lead person exploring new partnerships and growing existing relationships.  They will guide EduDeo in healthy development practices – ensuring our work is done in ways that honour God and our global partners. The International Partnership Director will be a member of the Leadership Team and must be an experienced servant leader with excellent people skills, demonstrated cultural intelligence, an exemplary work ethic and values that fully align with those of EduDeo Ministries and its Christian identity.

Description of Responsibilities and Duties:

1. International Partnership Development: (90%)

a)   Leadership of International Partnership Team

  • Develop appropriate international partnership policy and materials
  • Develop and implement plans and budgets for global initiatives
  • Monitor political and cultural situations of partner countries to assess security / program risks and develop an appropriate organizational response
  • Work closely with HANDS Coordinator in identifying partner construction projects
  • Work closely with Walking Together Co-Leaders to ensure growth of Christ-centred education
  • Ensure team members effectively interact and achieve intended results

b)   Partner relationships

  • Facilitate open communication with key partner contacts
  • Develop and grow new partnerships as per the current strategic plan
  • Orchestrate effective partner development
  • Evaluate partnerships on an annual basis
  • Guide the development of multi-year plans/goals with each partner
  • Ensure effective narrative and financial reporting from partners
  • Develop and implement partner agreements to ensure Canada Revenue Agency compliance

c)    Liaise with EduDeo staff

  • Represent partner voices in the development of new organizational initiatives
  • Coordinate effective partner visits to Canada and staff visits to partners
  • Review major EduDeo communication pieces to ensure accurate international ministry reporting
  • Work with EduDeo Controller to ensure all international financial commitments are honoured
  • Keep EduDeo staff informed of important international ministry decisions and partner reports

2. Organization: (10%)

a)   Serve on the Leadership Team

b)   Provide leadership to the International Partnerships Team

c)    Be an active participant in team meetings

d)   Provide assistance, as requested, at various significant organizational events

e)   Continue to grow through professional development opportunities

f)    Network with people of similar responsibility for peer support and professional development

g)   Complete other duties as assigned by the Executive Director

Job Requirements:

  • Strong commitment to Jesus Christ and His church.
  • Strong commitment to the vision, mission, values and goals of EduDeo Ministries.
  • Highly self-motivated, responsible, and a confidence in taking initiative.
  • Demonstrated success in working as a member of a team and developing effective working relationships.
  • Excellent communication skills – verbal and written.
  • Cultural awareness and sensitivity.
  • Aptitude in decision-making and problem-solving.
  • Computer literate, including effective working ability with Microsoft Suite, email, and Adobe products.
  • Aptitude for continual learning and professional development.
  • A degree in International Development or related field.
  • Experience in international development or missions is preferred.
  • Senior level leadership experience in a non-profit is preferred.
  • Experience with Salesforce is an asset
  • Fluency in Spanish and/or French is an asset
  • Ability to work from EduDeo’s Hamilton-based office is preferred.
  • Some international travel will be required.
