Day 5 - Let the Little Children Come to Me ... for theirs is the Kingdom of God.

Woodynook 2019 HANDS Team:

For i know the plans i have for you ...

If you watch the news a litle bit, you may have heard about the civil unrest and subsequent goverment clamp down in Nicaragua last year. The events of last spring are simply referred to here as "The Crisis". The affects of the crisis are widespread. It has devasted the economy, it has left many uneasy and fearful about the future. In some ways it seems without hope.

Today we were blessed and priveledged to see another side of Nicaragua. Today we were blessed to visit 4 of the schools which Edu-Deo has recently been a part of. The day began with a presentation from Acecen which assists 100 Christian Schools and their teachers, along with over 27,000 students. Through the work of organizations like Acecen, Gideons, and Edu-Deo, Christ is not only taught, but is encouraged in the schools of Nicaragua. Today was a reminder that hope is not found in the things of this world but in the things of God. Hope was heard in the principals who shared their stories, the teachers we met, but most of all, seen in the faces of the children.

"I know the plans i have for you," declares the Lord. "Plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." This was the message Jeremiah gave to the Jews in one if the most devastating time in their history. We have no idea what the immediate future holds for Nicaragua, but after what we wittnessed today we cannot walk way without hope. Simply because God is God, and he is in control of the future.

This is beautiful! Jesus is reflected in the faces of the children. May His light shine in Nicaragua. By the way, the banner is astounding!!
