Day 8 0 comments

Our Team:

With only a couple days left in Nicaragua the group is pushing hard to get as much done before the we head home. Today was a full day of pouring concrete, digging cross beams and painting. There was a full team effort when pouring concrete. Some people carried pails of concrete on there should well other mixed and fixed it. The site has limited access, getting concrete to certain areas can be difficult. Painting can be a repetitive task but the team got a lot accomplished today. All in all everyone is ready for one last productive day before we head home.

San Rafael Del Sur 0 comments

After a couple days away from the job site, the team had a very productive day in San Rafael Del Sur. The group is getting used to having rice and beans every morning for breakfast. Today we had a crew cleaning and painting cross beams that will be supporting the second floor and the roof. Another crew was digging footings, compacting clay and trying rebar for the wall structures. It was a long hot day, everyone worked hard the team was wiped by he end of the day. It has been a pleasure seeing the production getting done, you can tell the local workers appreciate the help. Every night we recap the day with everyone’s highs and lows, along with a devotional.

Day 5 - Recreational Day 0 comments

Yesterday we started off by going to a pottery shop just outside of Granada. They welcomed us into there home and showed us how to make pottery out of natural resources. We then had the opportunity to go zip lining in a near by forest. In the afternoon we explored lake Nicaragua on a boat tour. There were tiny islands near by that had monkeys on them. After leaving Granada we headed to Masaya Volcano. This is a live volcano just outside of Managua were you could actually see the bubbling lava. Going from place to place you could see the magnificent creation that God has created.

Day 4 - Project learning day 0 comments

Today we had the pleasure to learn about projects that have been completed over the past years. We travelled to four schools that edu-edo ministries have built. Each school had very powerful and moving stories. We learned about the past and present conditions of each community. Each teacher shared there stories and were so grateful and compassionate about each project. It was quite obvious how big of difference these projects have made in there lives. We learned about the impact that God has made in the students, we will continue to pray for each and every school. Today was a wholesome experience for all!
