The Long Road to Lundazi...Literally one road...maybe two..

Vineland Free Reformed HANDS Team:

Our morning started by the bus at 4:45 AM with devotions and prayer for safe travels. We were told by our company that the bus trip would be around 9 hours long but in Zambia we have come to learn that the friendly locals go by their own time. Our 9 hour trip turned into a 12 hour journey. No air conditioning, no bathrooms and no smooth roads. However, we had great company, an accommodating guide and a really great driver who expertly avoided the massive craters in all the roads. Overall our ride was long but we enjoyed the beautiful scenery, waving at the local villagers and yelling out the windows and greeting them in the local language that Collins was attempting to teach us. During our trip we learned that Coressa makes awesome peanut butter and jam sandwiches, Adrian is no sleeping beauty, and that for us ladies it can be difficult finding the perfect tree to pee behind. Overall we are thankful to be here in Lundazi and to be greeted by such a loving community.

P.S: We decided that it would be fun for all you folks at home to play a game. The game is called: "Who has the best sleeping face?" At the end of each blog, we will post a picture of someone sleeping. On the very last blog, it is your job to post in the comments who has the best sleeping face. Enjoy! :) Zzzz

I’m curious who’s foot is so close to Adrian’s face... is he even sleeping or did he pass out from the smell
