Day 9

St. Catharines HANDS Team:

It was another hot day in Belize. We picked up some hardware and paintbrushes for our jobs today.  This morning some of us painted the front of the church while others were involved with repairing the screens. Some of the guys were preparing forms for the ceiling.  Irene was in the classroom for the morning, teaching the students about the colour purple.

We also bought three plastic balls for the classroom when we went shopping this morning.  The students loved playing with them during their outside play time.  After lunch we went to the town of Concepcion to visit the grade school.  We were warmly, and we mean warmly as in temperature, greeted by the eight classes.  They recited memory work, sang songs, showed their work and at recess were ready to play with us.  Marlene and Irene taught a class the song “Head and Shoulders” because they noticed that they were studying the parts of the body. The students thought it was very funny. After our tour, we went outside and played tag and soccer with the students. The students find it very special that we are willing to play with them and didn't want us to leave.  When we came back to the work site, we went back to work and finished off a few jobs before supper. Tonight we participated in the prayer service again. Relationships are getting stronger which is making it harder for us to be ready to leave.  We know that the Fenwick team will continue with God's work here and will also be a blessing to this community. Pastor Alvaro  shared with his congregation tonight that each one of them is an important part of the body of Christ, with their own gifts and talents to share. We thank the Lord for blessing us and allowing us to be part of this christian community.

Dios te bendiga. (God bless you!)

Hi Trinity Hands Team

Wonderful to see the work being done and all the interaction with the kids. Also nice to know that the team from Fenwick will help finish the project started by you. Enjoy the last few days and also the warm weather, it has been rather cold here. May you feel blessed that God has led you to this place and may the efforts of the work you do be blessed by Him who loves all of us. The Lord be with you.

Its a blessing to read about your days...we are praying about the continuation of God work in Belize. Your testimony encourages us and it is our prayer that we will continue the work you have started - not only in building the school but in building relationships in Christ. Enjoy your last day. We know that leaving will be difficult...you have established a bond in Christ that cannot be broken.

Hello Trinity team..thanks so much for the blogging you did while there, it really gets us into the mood to 'get there' and continue what you have started...at least by the time we get there the paint should be dry..lol..Praying for safe travels tomorrow as you leave your place in Belize to come back home to Canada.I know that all of you will leave a little piece of your heart there as well..but know that you have been a blessing to those that you helped and met..and that in return they were also a blessing to each and everyone one of you..God bless you and keep each one safe.. you will have to follow our Fenwick blog in a week or so and see what we will continue to do there at the school..thanks again Hans and Hilda Dam
