Day 1 of Work -

Slotegraaf and Friends HANDS Team:

Had a great first day on the job site after a quick orientation of the week.  We arrived to preparations for the Independence Day being celebrated Feb 27th.  This celebrates the Dominican Republic's freedom from Haiti's rule back in 1844.  We walked through the streets with the kids from the school as they shouted and cheered.  Pretty awesome

I am so proud of all of you. Especially you Dad. Since this is my Dad's first cultural experience since coming to Canada, I am counting on you Uncle Pete as the leader (how does the youngest get to be leader anyway HA)to please make sure Dad is on the plane back home!!!! Blessings
