Day 3--Famous Wrestler on the Team

Red Deer HANDS Team:

Today was very similar to yesterday- schedule wise and work wise: more digging, more tying of rebar.  Good progress has been made. Extra help seems to keep showing up! Today the pastor and a friend, and even a couple of other teachers worked along side of us.   Peter told us that what we accomplished today he had hoped to have done by tomorrow. Yeah team!

The principal took many of us for a tour of the school where we were warmly welcomed by each class.  Amazing to see the small, simply equipped classrooms.  A library will be a real blessing to this school.

The children are very excited because they think that Jason is a famous wrestler that they have seen on TV!  They can’t believe that he has come to visit them!

Harvey has been getting Spanish lessons from the principal’s daughter!  With her tutoring, he now can count to 4.  He needs remedial help for 5 and 6!

Tonight Steve  Holtrup of World Renew did a presentation on the history of Nicaragua, theNehemiahCenter and also explained World Renew’s  function in the country. It was very informative, and gave us food for thought during our devotions this evening.

Overall, another wonderful day!  Till tomorrow!

If Jason's wrestling career involves wrestling with Raya and Ryker, then of course he must be a celebrity! His other matches, I'm unaware of. Lol! Glad to see a bit of fun amongst a whole lot of work!

It's great to see how you are jelling together as a team not only amongst yourselves but also with staff and students. You seem to have accomplished so much in just a couple of days - and all with fun and laughter! We pray that the Lord may continue to bless your work.

New adventures and excitement every day. The smiles we see on the pics tell a story by themselves. Great stuff. We're all so proud of your attitudes and accomplishments. You're great ambassadors and we feel so much a part of the team, even if we can't be there with you!

The smiles on the faces say it all....on the children, on the adults, on the volunteers. How gratifying it must be! I so look forward to hearing all about your experiences!

Jane...I love seeing you surrounded by all the beautiful little girls! Definitely a different experience then being surrounded by your boys!

I hope the joyful expressions only get bigger and more memorable!
