Day 1--We have arrived!

Red Deer HANDS Team:

We are here! Safe and sound, but not without a bit of adventure!

We only lost Jeff once...(and that was in Canada) and only 1 piece of luggage is missing, so we are feeling very fortunate! Good roads, smooth sailing through customs in all countries and timely flights made for an excellent day.

We met another mission group in the Houston airport. They are from Phoenix and are also coming to Nicaragua to build houses. It was wonderful to have Peter and Trudy Kuipers waiting for us after we got through customs.  They warmly welcomed us and pointed out highlights of the city as we made our way to the Nehemiah centre.

We ended our day by meeting together for sharing and devotions.  Jason read us a couple of letters, one from Jack and Alice Heilema which gave us words of encouragement and support.  As well, we received a greeting from Edudeo Ministries.  John led us in singing several songs it was very moving and ispirational.  We are all ready to go to bed and look forward to tomorrow.

I think Jeff needs one of those baby halters but maybe a cattle halter would be more his size!! God bless you and keep you safe. May you be a shining light to all that you meet.
