Day 8 - Back at Work

Red Deer HANDS Team:

It was good to be back at work today!  Much was accomplished!  Filling and tamping holes, prepping for concrete, painting and tying more rebar!  The men’s work was largely in the sun-tedious work prepping for tomorrow’s pour.  Clouds and the occasional breeze were most welcome!  Sheila was given a unique assignment- watering the bricks! (to keep them from getting too brittle in the sun).  This afternoon several young people came to help us.

We enjoyed an impromptu Spanish-English sing-a-long at lunch.  It was fun to discover songs that both we and our Nicaraguan friends know.

We are savouring the warm weather- especially as we get reports of cold and snow back home!  We will try to bring some of this heat back with us – no guarantees!

A quiet evening- singing, sharing, blogging and enjoying a treat Sheila had the cooks prepare for us.   Good night!

You are looking good and mostly smiling. Enjoy the warmth and sunshine. Looking forward as the building rises up from the ground. "Let God" and have fun!

It has been great following your blog and many adventures. What an experience and what a blessing you all are to those who will use the

We have a "day off" today as we remember all those who sacrificed so much for our freedom. We also remember and pray for you as you give of yourselves for the building of a library and of relationships made possible through Jesus and his church.Your blogs and pictures warm our days here on the cold prairie. Tell Harvey that I'm signing up for the Spanish classes that he can offer once he gets back. We pray for safe travels home.

The time seems to have passed quite quickly but it also looks as if much has been accomplished! I sincerely hope that the remaining hours are filled with a lot of joy and a real sense of accomplishment.

When you have no helpers, see your helpers in God. When you have many helpers, see God in all your helpers. When you have nothing but God, see all in God.

When you have everything, see God in everything.

Under all conditions, stay thy heart only on the Lord. (Charles Spurgeon)

Have a blessed and fun day tomorrow!
