Day 2: First Day of Work!

Providence HANDS Team:

We were able to begin working on the addition to the school today, aiding the local contractor and workers. So after another early morning, we once again headed to the EduDeo ministry center (where the school also is).

Our first day was also a short one, helping us "ease" into the work. We all helped to clean up the workplace throughout the day, and some of us moved cinder blocks while the others tied up rebars, with plenty of water breaks. Shortly after noon, we were called for lunch where we were presented with a variety of tasty food. Afterwards, we tied up a couple more rebars, and cleaned up a few of the messes. With not much more we were able to do today, we were brought home, stopping for ice cream on the way!

With a further understanding of the work we will be doing, we returned to relax from the heat.

After swimming, and a short break, then came supper. After supper we played games and talked about our day, all the while our friendships conitnued to grow as we get closer. Devotions came around 8:00pm.

Tonight we focused on the Breastplate of Righteousness, and how it protects the wearer from fatal attacks. Living a righteous life is essential to the Christian's life in order to defend against the attacks of the devil, and will help to protect us from a potentially fatal blow. Without it, we stand vulnerable to anything that might come our way.
