Just 10 days untill the team from across Canada travels to Belize to meet, fellowship with and help build their school. The excitement builds.
April 04 Gunther and Jerry meeting to organize the trip next week.
April 12th. Team members are flying in to Atlanta for first leg of our missions trip to Belize. Our flights were uneventful and by chance Gunther and Jerry met Anthony, Ben, Ken and Willie in line boarding the final leg of our flight in Minneapolis. It was great to see them and travel together to Atlanta arriving at 10:30 PM local time. Kansas waiting for us at our hotel, the Country Inn and Suites near the airport
We meet for breakfast at 6:00 AM local time (4:00 Alberta/Sask. Time). Gonna be an early morning. Gunny may not survive.
Pray for the team as we unite with each other from across Canada to work on the Unity Presbyterian Pre and Primary school in Belize City. Pray that we will develops lasting relationships with the people in and around the school.
Friday April 13th Sorry this posting was lost. We met at 6:00 AM for breakfast, devotions and prayer then left for the airport. Flights were all uneventfull and on time, this one was no different and we arrived in Belize ar 11:00 AM were we were met by Pastor Ernest Betson/our bus driver/tour guide/construction co-ordinator/host of our housing host and the supplier of huges. He instantly warmed our hearts with his huge smile warm welcome, a hug and "I love You" for each of us including Anthony (a none hugger). Wow what a start to our mission here. We had lunch at a local pizza resturant and immediately went to work at the school hauling about 150 40ft. long rebar up to the 3rd. floor in 90 degree heat. Welcome to Belize. We had a great time and returned to the Pastor's home (right beside the ocean) for supper, devotions and sleep. A long day, but a wonderfull day.
Sat. April 14th Breakfast at the dining room of our home here in Belize, a special breakfast prepared for us by Pastor Betson....ummm delicious. We put in a long day at the school today accomplishing alot. A hot sunny day with the odd cloud which we appreciated. The people here are amazing, very clean, freindly and happy. The streets are very narrow and the big bus seems too big to get thru, however God is on our side and thus no accidents. Pasror Betson is teaching us to use two sayings to each othe. The first is "God is Good " to which we reply "All the Time" and the second is "I love You". These sayings are getting to be very common among the team. The picture in cluded here show the type of area the school is in shows the needs that are here and that the school is in the right location to bring the love of God and the message of hope to these wonderfull people. Please continue to pray that God will use us to build relationships with these people and fellowship together in several chuches tomorrow.
