Day 9 2 comments

Our Team:

Today was another great day. We got a ton of work accomplished in the hot and windy conditions. This resulted in a lot off sweat and dirt! Some of us attended a grade 4 class and sang Jesus Loves Me to them. They then sang to us. We poured a large portion of the concrete forms, painted, wheel narrowed even more dirt, and set up some forms for tomorrows work. Our ice cream vendor attended again providing us with a nice break.

Day 10 4 comments

Today was a fantastic last day to the trip! Everything that needed to be accomplished was - the concrete was successfully poured all throughout the foundation, the little round rods were finally done being painted, and the pile of sand outside the school has either been brought up of has been blown away by the wind!

The school gave us a wonderful goodbye assembly, where gifts and thanks were exchanged. Children from the different grades sang songs or performed dances, which were all very beautiful.

We finished early, so we got to spend some more time than usual enjoying Coco's Place in the afternoon.

We're all very tired, but very sad to be leaving Nicaragua so soon.

Day 8 1 comment

Today it was back to work!

We stood in on the back of the morning chapel for the children, and later, while we worked, we could hear them having a competition to see who could recite the most chapters of the Bible - we heard up to four chapters from both groups!

Us ladies are almost done painting the metal bars, and the guys carted the last of the dirt up the hill. Lots of cement was mixed, rebar twisted, and paint mixed.

The project is really shaping up, and we can't wait to see the final product!

Sunday 0 comments

We had the opportunity to worship with our brothers and sisters on Christ in a vibrant Sunday worship service. Many of the tunes were familiar, the words perhaps not so much so.

We joined up with the school2school group from Abbotsford for the remainder of the day, which involved, lunch at the Nehemiah Center, a trip to the Pacific Ocean, and a viewing of the movie "Reparando".

At the end of the day, a good day of Sabbath.
