Day 1

Mount Brydges HANDS Team:

We have arrived!

After leaving at 1am from Detroit we have arrived at the Nehemiah Center in Managua, Nicaragua. The flights went well. We went in the van and drove the 1 hour ride (in rush hour) to the sites of Managua. The traffic was crazy with people in the middle of the roads trying to sell us stuff. We are in Managua, but it feels so remote. The birds (parrots and others) are busy singing.

So here we sit, chillin. We had a brief overview of what our 10 days here will look like. Tomorrow morning we leave for Leon at 7:30am and hope to arrive there by 9:30. We will be meeting with the Principal and some of the students, then its down to work.

Hello to all our friends and family... we hope to continue our blog on Friday night!!
