Finished pouring columns

Kitchener HANDS Team:

We worked hard at the school today using the technique we have perfected.  We finished the last 12 columns of concrete.  Harley took a break from dumping the concrete and let Chris and Leah take the last few.  Hank and Harriette were mixing concrete on the ground.  Most of the pouring today was much closer to where the concrete was being made, so that shortened the time needed to finish each column.  Today the school was open, so there were lots of children there from 9 until 12 or so.  Leah, Derrick and Pete Douwes were playing with the kids and giving them stickers.  We were surprised at how loud the children were during classes and recess - contrary to the schools we are used to.

For lunch we enjoyed a quarter chicken, potato salad and rice with lentils.  During one of our breaks we were served a delicious passionfruit juice made from scratch.  We stopped to purchase some ice on our way back to the ministry center.  For supper we had spaghetti with cow balls, rice and beans with vegetables on top.  We had a presentation from Mario from the Center for Transforming Missions.  He explained the contrast between the beauty and affliction within the country.  We finished the day reading books and playing dice games.

SOUNDS LIKE YOU ARE ALL MAKING GOOD PROGRESS. I MISS BEING THERE. WHAT ARE THE TEMPS LIKE? SEEING EVERYONE IN SHORTS AND READING THAT PETE ALREADY WENT FOR AN ICE CREAM - TELLS ME THAT IT MUST BE FAIRLY HOT THERE.

BLESSINGS ON YOUR WORK. MY THOUGHTS AND PRAYERS ARE WITH YOU ALL.
