April 22-23 :)

International Block Learning Trip - London & Toronto HANDS Team:

Another two amazing days in the DR! Both today and yesterday we have spent our mornings and afternoons working with the Renacer kids in the National Botanical Gardens. We were split up into several groups that were mixed with people from both our group and Renacer. My group was given the job of weeding flower pots and taking care of the plants in their nursery. Other groups did jobs such as raking leaves, weeding gardens and forest areas, and sorting and picking a lot of seeds. There was so many types of plants and fruit trees many of us were amazed and lost count as to how many there are! Many laughs and stories were told while picking the endless amounts of weeds, and many of us enjoyed laughing and learning some Spanish with the students.

Today after working all morning we got to spend personal time with the Dominican students and got to tour around the Botanical gardens in a train. All the work we do is all worth it to hear from the supervisor how happy and thankful she is for all our hard work and dedication. I love to just stand back and look around seeing all our group working, laughing, playing, and just enjoying their life using all their amazing God given talents.

Last night during a brief and hard rain all the guys decided to shower in the rain which was a ton of fun and we ended up getting a ton of soap in our eyes and played a super intense spike ball game. One of my favourite parts of the night is spending time with our big happy “family” and sitting up on the roof with friends and teachers  and do our journals and devotions together looking over the city and all of its beauty and sounds. God is good in so many ways and I and our team is so blessed and thankful to be here. Dios te Bandiga! :)
