Day 11

Hope 4 HANDS Team:

This morning we woke up to rain that was heavy at times. They called ahead to see how the roads and job site were like. The response was that they were not great and there was no guarantee that we would be able to work even if we were able to drive the roads. The decision was made to stay in Lundazi. So we relaxed and read books. Halfway the morning the rain broke enough to allow us to take a walk. We went across the river to a poultry farm owned by CCAP as shown in the picture below. They grow roughly 300 birds in that space, but there were slightly less there at this time. After lunch, the weather was nice enough that we drove out to the Lundazi airstrip. It is a relatively smooth gravel strip that is rarely used. We found a grassy spot at the end of the runway and shared life stories.

We were disappointed that we couldn't go to work, but it is what it is and we made the best of it. The one picture below is of Cristabel cooking us lunch at the job site on Monday. The other is of the children at Mwase Primary School.

Enjoying your stories first as I am putting them up on the blog and seeing the pictures...brings back great memories when I was in Mwase! Please give my love to all at the guesthouse and CCAP. Keep positive and know that you are doing great work even if it isn't physical..the relationships you are building with the people and love you are showing will last a long time!

I guess day 11 was a little different than planned for the team. That just happens!

; )

It must be rewarding to think of all the work that got done.

Stay strong team.

Have the mosquitoes/bugs been bad with all the rain?
