Day 9

Hope 4 HANDS Team:

So here we are, day 9 of our trip. Our day started with church at 8. We thought we might be done early but due to a bunch of special events and some much-anticipated visitors from Lusaka we got quite a show. After numerous choirs (one of which was ours) some fiery speeches and sermons the service moved outside to accommodate the massive overflow of people. Luckily, we were done by 1:30 so it wasn’t too bad. After another excellent lunch (thanks to Cristabel, Dorothy, and Venus) we took a walk through town and had our bible study next to the scenic Lundazi Castle.

Upon our return to the guesthouse we had a game of soccer scheduled for 4:30, we asked the local kids if they wanted to play. Jumping at the opportunity to beat some Canadians! Although we knew our chances of victory were slim, we gave it a try. It turns out that we were accurate in our assessment and would have been destroyed, but they took pity on us and allowed us to leave with some dignity. They even let Justin den Toom score a couple times.

So now Claudia is telling me that its time to stop messing around on her computer and play some games so I guess I’d better go. The next three and a half days are all work so we’d appreciate your prayers for safety (and a few clouds over that vicious African sun would be nice too).

Thanks for your support!
